The Indian architect, urbanist and teacher BalkrishnaDoshi is one of the most important representatives of an Indian Modernism, but he gained influence and world class far beyond that. His visionary work in the field of affordable housing and urban planning as well as his strong commitment to education are central. In 2018 he was the first Indian architect to receive the prestigious PritzkerPrize, the "Nobel Prize of Architecture".
